Digital Substraction Of Angiography
This is a fluoroscopic technique used extensively to visualize blood vessels. Radiopaque such as bones are eliminated (subtracted) digitally from the image, thus allowing an accurate depiction of blood vessels.
This examination technique is commonly used to diagnose a variety of blood vessel diseases.
You may undergo DSA to diagnose obstructive vascular diseases that are caused by blocks or narrowing in the lumen (inner surface) of arteries and veins, intracranial aneurysm, vascular malformation etc.
